About Us

We are a small average kiwi family based in Dunedin.  Like many other kiwis we love to travel.  We have done most of Asia but fell in love with Singapore.  After doing a cruise last year for the first time it was great and really loved it but Singapore took our hearts.

We came back from Singapore in January 2020 with plans to go back in 2021, but then COVID-19 came to town.  As we all know lockdown 4 then 3, 2, 1 and borders are still closed.  We can travel but at a huge cost.  We are now forced to explore our own backyard.  Many people we talk to tell us we should have explored NZ anyway.  I do say yes but NZ is to expensive and it is cheaper for most us travel the world then travel NZ.  Even with COVID-19 it is still to expensive to travel.

We decided to invest in a roof tent and an awning for our vehicle and set off to explore NZ on a budget.  We visit locations such as Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch but we also decided to explore the small towns of the South Island, places such as Lawrence, Milton, Geraldine and the list goes on.  These small towns are great.  They may not be the shopping mecca as we are used to but these small towns have a lot to offer.   I went to visit Geraldine for the first time a months ago.  I always put it off thinking it was a boring place to visit when in fact I had a fantastic time. 

We will just load up the ute and visit somewhere for a day or two.  As we go on these journeys we aim to video take pictures and document the whole journey.  If we can show others what these places are like it may urge others to come and visit and spend time in these wonderful places we have here in NZ.
